On Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 10 a.m., the Most Rev. Francis Leo, Metropolitan Archbishop of Toronto, will ordain our five transitional deacons, Rev. Mr. Marko Bušić, Rev. Mr. Daniel Lee, Rev. Mr. Ryan Nigli, Rev. Mr. Szymon Sorbian and Rev. Mr. Jeremy Zou with the Sacrament of Holy Orders as they become priests of the Archdiocese of Toronto. The Mass of Ordination will take place at St. Michael’s Cathedral Basilica and will also be streamed via the cathedral basilica’s livestream.
Rev. Mr. Marko Bušić, was born and raised in Mississauga. The youngest of six siblings, raised by parents of Croatian descent, he graduated from York University before entering St. Augustine’s Seminary. Following his ordination, he will serve as Associate Pastor at Prince of Peace Parish in Scarborough beginning June 26, 2024.
Rev. Mr. Daniel Lee was born in Seoul, South Korea. His maternal grandmother was a fervent Catholic and introduced the faith to the family. He graduated from the University of Toronto before entering St. Augustine’s Seminary. Following his ordination, he will serve as Associate Pastor at St. Bernadette’s Parish in Ajax beginning June 26, 2024.
Rev. Mr. Ryan Nigli was born in Etobicoke to loving and devoutly Catholic parents, who emigrated from India. He attended Michael Power–St. Joseph High School, and later studied at King’s University College before entering St. Augustine’s Seminary. Following his ordination, he will serve as Associate Pastor at St. Justin Martyr Parish in Unionville beginning June 26, 2024.
Rev. Mr. Szymon Sorbian was born in Toronto, studied at the University of Toronto and then worked at a corporate office in downtown Toronto. He left the workforce after a short time to pursue his call to the priesthood through studies and formation at St. Augustine’s Seminary. Following his ordination, he will serve as Associate Pastor at St. Patrick’s Parish in Markham beginning June 26, 2024.
Rev. Mr. Jeremy Zou grew up in Richmond Hill and studied at the University of Toronto before following his call to the priesthood and entering St. Augustine’s Seminary. Following his ordination, he will serve as Associate Pastor at St. Barnabas Parish in Scarborough beginning June 26, 2024.

As a community of faith, let us offer our prayers for these five men ordained to the priesthood.
